Copyright Commons Statement for Flickr
On Flickr there’s a way for groups and organizations to upload images, and Flickr will note the copyright status of each image. As far as I can tell, all images on NASA’s Flickr are labeled as “No known copyright restrictions” meaning the images act as if public domain. There’s hundreds of images spanning early aircraft to the present. One of my favorite images is the one above from the Album “Space Colony Artwork from the ’70s” where NASA collaborated with Art students at Stanford to release these surreal images of life and suburbs in space. I love the colorful retro designs in this album even though it was a bit unexpected given the other more typical space pictures you can find on NASA Commons Flickr.
