Prelinger Archives

Prelinger is an online movie and video archive with over 8,000 videos, all in the public domain or creative commons. Most of the videos date between the 1930s-1970s, but there are a few decade outliers as well. On of the strengths of this archive is that the videos don’t all share the same themes or topics, and it leads to a large variety in the types of videos that are offered, including commercials, cartoons, documentary, home videos, and more. The video above is a vintage educational cartoon from the 1950s that teaches about atoms and chemistry.
