Project Gutenberg
Project Gutenberg is an online book and text archive, which primarily hosts public domain texts. The site clearly lists the copyright status of every work on the works’ page, and even includes many file types for download, including HTML, EPUB, Kindle, Plain Text UTF-8, and more. The subjects of the texts on Project Gutenberg are not just limited to classical books. Though you can definitely find classics like The Odyssey. You can also find lesser known texts and even texts in other languages besides English. The works hosted on Project Gutenberg have sufficient metadata for easily searching in the included search bar. One of my favorite topics, Heresy, even came back with twenty-five results! (While less well-populated, the site also hosts a handful of audio-books, for those more keen on listening.)
